A Quick Guide to the Ultimate Galentine’s Party

You say Valentine and I say Galentine!

Don’t get me wrong, I adore my boyfriend and he always make Valentine’s Day so special (one year he taught himself to hand-knit and made me a giant scarf that was even better than the one I’d wanted for a while). BUT! There is also something so fun about celebrating the Day of Love with your gal pals.

A few years ago my roommates and I threw our first Galentine’s Day party. We went all out and threw the most Pinterest-y party you’ve ever seen! We sent invitations, decorated the house, made yummy food and had a mimosa bar. All of our favorite ladies came over and we gabbed and took 1,000 pictures and celebrated all things girlfriends. After that I was hooked on all of the pink, hearts, sparkles, flowers and lady love.

This year I threw another one and thought I’d share a little inspo from my party in case you’re planning on hosting one too! Below is everything you need to kick off the prettiest Galentine’s Party with your besties:

Decide on a theme.

The best part about Galentine’s is that there are no rules! Want to do a wine tasting? Wine not, girl! Want to host a fancy potluck? You’re in luck cuz ya can! Want to do a bunch of crafts? Get crafty! HECK, DO ALL 3!

Send out some cutey “theme specific” party invites to your girls.

This year, I used an app called Red Stamp (love so much) to create my fun invite. Red Stamp has pre-made editable templates for you to create quick and easy invites right from your phone!

Decide on food.

I had a potluck so it was difficult to plan on what others would bring. I’m kind of crazy with potlucks and always transfer everything to one of my own platters to maintain a theme. There is nothing worse than having a main food table with 20 different color serving plates!

Style the space.

My house has huge windows, a large fireplace with a mantle, and a lot of open space (home tour coming soon). I moved all of my furniture around and set up a main food table and two 6ft tables for my lady friends to mingle at.

Decorate the space.

I love balloons because they are an easy and inexpensive way to make a huge statement! Also I’m completely obsessed with Geronimo Balloons and her larger than life installations. So, I created a red, pink and white balloon garland and hung it over my mantle. I bought some pink and red heart balloons from my local grocery store and spread them throughout the space. One of my favorite bits of decoration were the napkin holders. I was inspired by bando and decided to make little compliment cards for each table setting!

Have some party favors.

I seriously had the hardest time deciding on what to do for favors this year! Decided to go with small pink sparkly heart notebooks and candy.
